Maxime Raynaud will miss at least the next two weeks with a right knee injury, the Kings announced Sunday.
An MRI revealed a right patellar subluxation — a partial dislocation of the kneecap — and the second-year center will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.

Raynaud left the Kings’ 111-106 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center with 2:32 remaining in the second quarter.
Raynaud went down while setting a screen on Steph Curry for rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr. The 23-year-old big man took contact to the outside of his right knee and was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.

The diagnosis is a positive sign given how the injury looked in the moment. ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported the MRI ruled out serious ligament damage, and Kings general manager Scott Perry said afterward, “he’ll be back.”
With Raynaud’s reevaluation date on Oct. 25, he will miss the beginning of the 2026-27 regular season. The Kings open the campaign on Oct. 21 against the Clippers in Los Angeles, return to Sacramento for their home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 23 and host the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 25.
Raynaud’s injury will open up playing time for players such as Dylan Cardwell and Precious Achiuwa.
Raynaud, a 2026 All-Rookie Second Team selection, led Sacramento in rebounding last season at 7.5 per game, so the Kings will be without a valuable part of their rotation early this season.
