Celtics players share favorite Jayson Tatum moments, games and more originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
Jayson Tatum is the face of the Boston Celtics franchise.
The superstar forward is ready to lead the C’s into the 2026-27 NBA season, which begins Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET against the Detroit Pistons.
Tatum played in just 16 games last season after returning from an Achilles injury on March 6. He played very well and averaged 21.8 points, 10 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
After a strong preseason over the last few weeks, Tatum will be out to prove he’s still the perennial first-team All-NBA player we saw before the injury. If he reaches that level this season, the Celtics could be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
During Celtics Media Day last month, we asked a bunch of players, coaches and team president of basketball operations Brad Stevens for their favorite Tatum memory, moment, story or other interesting tidbit about the team’s best player.
