Getting a triple-double is not a common thing for any NBA player, and less so for rookies. Getting one this early in the season is even rarer.
The last rookie to get a triple-double by his fifth game was Lonzo Ball, who turned the trick for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017-18.
Well, Cameron Boozer pulled it off against Portland Thursday night. The former Duke star finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists against the Trail Blazers.
It’s still early, but at this point, it’s hard to argue that Boozer isn’t the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year.
More importantly, the Memphis Grizzlies are now 5-0.
